What is a vCard?
A vCard is a plain-text file, usually ending in .vcf, that describes one contact in a format every phone and email program understands. Each line is a field: FN for the full name, TEL for a phone number, EMAIL, ORG for the company and URL for a website. Because the format is standard, a vCard made here opens the same way in Apple Contacts, Google Contacts, Outlook and most CRMs.
How do I share a vCard with someone?
- Attach the .vcf to an email; recipients tap it to save you.
- AirDrop or send it over WhatsApp, Messages or Slack as a file.
- Encode it in a QR code business card so people can scan it from print.
- Or skip the file entirely with a digital business card: one link, one QR code, and a save button that serves an always-current vCard.
Can I add a photo, socials or an address?
The vCard format supports all three, and a goodbd card includes them automatically: your AI headshot as the contact photo, every social profile as a typed URL and your location as an address. This free tool keeps to the fields that matter most so the file stays small and imports cleanly everywhere. Pair it with the email signature generator for a matching signature.

Questions about this tool
What is a vCard file used for?
A vCard is the standard way to pass a contact between devices and apps. Attach the .vcf to an email, AirDrop it, or embed it in a QR code and the recipient's phone offers to save it as a contact with every field in the right place. It also imports into Outlook, Gmail and any CRM.
Which vCard version does this generator create?
Version 3.0, which is the one iPhone, Android, Outlook, Apple Contacts and Google Contacts all read without conversion. Version 4.0 exists but some older clients still ignore it, so 3.0 remains the safest choice when you do not control the device on the other end.
How do I open a .vcf file on my phone?
On iPhone, tap the file in Mail, Messages or Files and choose Create New Contact. On Android, open it from the download notification or the Files app and pick Contacts. Both phones show a preview with the name, number and email before anything is saved, so nothing is added by accident.
Is my information stored anywhere?
No. The file is assembled by JavaScript in your browser and downloaded straight to your device. Nothing you type is sent to goodbd. If you would like a contact file that stays current when your details change, a free goodbd card serves a live vCard from a link you can share instead.
